Links and Other Stuff
Sadly enough, there aren't many working web sites for Brian...how do we fix this little problem? Put one up yourself!! (Hint, hint)
Lights, Camera...Brian McCardie by Stormwatcher, sister-site to Brian McCardie's Official Web Site. (That's this one, of course.)
Brian McCardie by Hazmart
A Tribute to Brian McCardie by Lisa Gallo
Brian McCardie A section of Allani's Dark Realm.
Cute actors listed made by Katta. The title pretty well says it all, really. Has a link to Alia's page.
Sassenach's Men in Kilts This is commentary on men in kilts...obviously...check it out and vote for the one that catches your eye...
Speaking of kilts. Yahoo!Groups: TheKiltClub. I figure since they mentioned Brian, even to making him Person of the Month for June 2002, I am not really going off-topic.
Check out the Internet Movie Database on Brian McCardie for the 'official' versions of his work.
Films andTV: Movie Lookup More general information, but outdated.
Try the Yahoo! Clubs Brian McCardie Fansite to join Yahoo's Brian McCardie Fan Club. We don't talk much, but the numbers of us are slowly increasing.

Merchandise Information
Most of the movie videos can be found cheap and without much difficulty on eBay or on regular online video store sites. The best place to look for the Extremely Hard to Find Video Kidnapped seems to be either on eBay or at Online-Auctions.net. HOWEVER: it is not available in PAL (European) format. Apparently they simply didn't make any.
DVD's vary a bit: some get snapped up like hotcakes, while others are more readily available. Kidnapped is now listed at Amazon.com and it is an Extended Version. The Beyond the City Limits aka Rip It Off DVD is gradually becoming more available and has lately been seen at Amazon.com as well. It's also been seen as a VHS lately; some ex-rentals, some bootlegged copies and some legit. The bootlegged copies, I'm told, have passable sound and abysmal picture quality.
Best bests for a soundtrack are music stores; soundtracks do appear on auction sites, but more rarely than the media stuff. Music shops can usually order what you want, although it can take a while.
Books on any of the movies are fairly rare (except for Kidnapped, and even that's not the easiest to find in a bookstore; try the Children's section); your best bet is to visit a big bookseller like Amazon.com and then look under Zshops or Auctions. Someone's bound to be selling one reasonably new sooner or later. On an interesting note, it seems two different authors wrote versions of a Speed 2 book, but I've not been able to get my hands on both copies to do any comparing.
Press kits appear and disappear. These are useful little items, containing a booklet of info on the movie, usually some pictures (all the ones I've seen are shades of gray) and sometimes even slides. They generally come in a portfolio with the movie title logo on the front and sometimes the poster picture too. Alternatively, the pictures from these are sometimes sold seperate from the press kit. Kits and photos alike can be found (sometimes) on Ebay and Amazon Auctions. Press kits are sometimes sold as press 'books'. There are also sometimes trading cards, or lobby cards, and those may be in color.
Posters are around here and there.
Screenplays are extremely rare, but with persistance one might get lucky.
The Rob Roy: Legends of the Mist CD-ROM is incredibly difficult to get one's hands on. It is worth the difficulty and expenditure, though; not only does it have the script, character bios, interviews, pictures, and movie/soundtrack snippets, it has Scottish history and clan information. Probably the best bet is to do a search on 'Legends of the Mist cd-rom, selling' and hope that the folks who are advertising them have not already sold their stock out. I've only seen this thing appear two or three times on eBay, and the asking prices were fairly high.
The TV shows have some complications involved. First of all, if you're going for video, you have to have a PAL (European format)-capable VCR or a multi-region DVD player. Then you have to actually find them. Best bet is to search under Google or some such useful search engine; use the name of the show, the episode if you know it and 'UK shop' or 'seller'. And good luck; the best I've seen is a bunch of Taggart videos at Blackstar. 'Rik Mayall Presents' and 'Dawn French: Murder Most Horrid' will get a response of sorts: Deleted. There are a few 'Dr Finlay' VHSs around here and there, but more often than not it's the ep 1 & 2 tape, not episode 3 & 4. And the 'Kavanagh Q.C. Collection Sets 4 and 5 (1999)' (listed on Amazon and other sites) don't contain 'Time of Need'. I looked. As far as DVD's, 'Dr Finlay' was converted to a DVD set rather recently; you get the entire series in 3 disks. 'Tinsel Town' also went DVD, but they don't seem to be an awful lot of those. The soundtrack was released, too, on CD.
